The couple aimed to take advantage of the unused space on their property and turn it into something profitable. A granny flat gave Jean and Katrin the perfect opportunity to generate extra income by renting it or the main house out, while still maintaining their privacy in the other property.

Throughout the building process there was some excitement but also some nervousness.
