The client wanted a more enhanced elevation to match the prestigious surroundings, alongside several key internal upgrades to improve functionality and aesthetics. Major Renovation Project Goals

Internally, the clients were keen to bring in more natural light, especially in key areas like the bathrooms, ensuite, and family room. They also wanted a modern, stylish kitchen that was both functional and perfect for entertaining, with special consideration given to their love of cooking at high temperatures. Furthermore, the reconfiguration of the staircase was necessary to free up space and make the home feel more open and airy.
Design & Development Process
The design process with Summit Renovations’ Senior Designer, Deb Pearcey, was collaborative and efficient. Together, we identified key design challenges and opportunities for improvement. A major focus was improving natural light throughout the home, so we recommended adding large, remote-controlled automatic Velux skylights to the bathrooms, ensuite, and family room. These skylights not only allowed natural light to flood the spaces but also ensured privacy was maintained.
The clients’ request for a new kitchen was an exciting challenge. They love to cook at high temperatures, so finding the right benchtop material was crucial. After conducting research and considering various options, we selected a Dekton product: a durable and heat-resistant material perfect for their needs. The kitchen was designed with entertaining in mind, featuring plenty of counter space, modern appliances, and stylish finishes.
Another important aspect was the dual staircase that took up valuable space in the home. Summit Renovations reworked the layout, realigning the staircase and repositioning it to open up the space and make the flow more functional.
Prestart meetings were highly collaborative, with the clients involved every step of the way in refining their ideas. Deb and the team provided clear guidance, ensuring the clients felt confident in the decisions they were making throughout the process.
