Summit Granny Flat in Wattle Grove: Case Study Owen recently added a 100sqm Summit Granny Flat to his semi-rural property…
Eric and Linda approached Summit to create a smaller, easy to manage granny flat for Linda’s parents to downsize into.
The family had a strong vision for their new home; it needed to be a single story home with wheelchair friendly features, allowing for any future changes in their lifestyle and needs that may affect the home’s longevity.
“It needed to be smaller, easy to care for with minimal garden to maintain but also have access for wheelchairs should it become necessary in the future. Basically, we did not want them to have to move in a few years’ time,” said Linda.
During the planning and design stages, Eric and Linda worked with their Design Consultant who adapted the interiors to best suit Linda’s parent’s needs and budget.
“We found the design stage went smoothly. We were able to see the granny flat display and from there we were able to change interior aspects to suit what we thought would best deliver our requirements.” the couple said.
“The team at Summit were very accommodating and helpful. Our Design Consultant was very courteous and helpful, nothing we requested was deemed to be unreasonable and he went out of his way to deliver us a brand new home which was on time, on budget and altogether it was a very pleasant experience,” said Eric and Linda.
The granny flat is exactly what Linda’s parents needed, providing a modern and easy-care home that made downsizing a breeze.
“We are very happy with the end product. The granny flat has met all our expectations, our parents have settled well and find it suits them perfectly.
Downsizing from a larger family home to a granny flat has been an experience which was not as traumatic as one could have anticipated. It was a pleasure to deal with Summit and we would recommend them to other folk interested in making the decision to downsize.”
