Creating a Hamptons look to your home is all about creating a lifestyle.
It is about freedom and a place of sanctuary, where you don’t want to think about work, where you can plan your next holiday or simply relax and unwind.
It is about a coastal lifestyle with nice big open spaces, and light and bright areas.
The Style Studio by Summit shares their must-have pieces for bringing a Hamptons feel to your home.
Lighting is a key feature. Think shades in a perfect brass gold tone. Typically they are not pieces just found anywhere and are perfectly crafted of iron and glass. They are striking pieces that represent quality and a wow factor.
Furniture should have a coastal twist. They should have curves and dining chairs should not all match. Think cane, or quarterback or wingback chairs with big blue and white stripes. White timbers are a popular Hamptons touch and can feature in tables and wall-panelling.
Easy Hamptons pieces to bring into a living area, include a pair of occasional wingback chairs. Artwork is another way to bring in a Hamptons vibe and it needn’t be pricey.
Use some beading on a linen cloth, or add some shells or gemstones that adds a bit of reflection or a bit of glam to that space. Curtains and window treatments are important elements to a Hamptons look home.
Roman blinds with a stripe running through or gold stitching, or a sheer curtain with banding along the bottom in a midnight blue are perfect touches. A floor rug teamed with a contemporary sofa is another great addition.
