What was the most important thing that you wanted to achieve with your Summit Granny Flat
I had own a corner block and wanted to optimise my block with rental income, and so used the space on the land to build a granny flat to rent out.
How was your experience with Summit Granny Flats during the design stage? Did you have specific elements you wanted included and was Summit able to achieve this?
The process ran extremely well; from the first meeting on site, to the office selections with Sarah Jane and finally the construction supervision of Jason.
I was very happy with the design, especially to get an alfresco and carport included for the tenant. Having the separate spaces makes it a more attractive option for a tenant and means more privacy for me as well. I’ve had a few people comment that the granny flat looks like another home on the block.
How was your experience with Summit Granny Flats during the construction stage?
Considering that the build happened during the COVID pandemic, I thought that construction ran very smoothly and was only a few weeks out from the scheduled completion date. Jason, my construction supervisor, kept me informed of the progressive trades as they attended the site which was helpful.
How do you feel about your new Granny Flat now that it’s completed?
I’m really happy that I went ahead with building a granny flat with Summit. I rented it out in the first week it was finished and have no complaints with the build.
