Q1) Was this your first development or build? If so, how did you find the experience?
This was our first development and build and the journey and our experience with Summit was excellent.
Ewan, our Senior Design Consultant, was with us every step of the way, guiding us through the process and educating us on likely outcomes and timelines.
He was always reminding us with our bottom line and return on investment, which speaks volumes for him as a professional.
He is incredibly genuine, always came back to us and was willing to go above and beyond to assist us in getting what we were hoping for.
Yes the build journey was long and had many setbacks mainly involving navigation through WAPC and Local Council planning. However, once the build started we found it to move very quickly.
Our Site Supervisor Sandro and Prestart Consultant Cerys were both also excellent and very professional.
Nothing was ever too hard to change or if we had questions we always had someone get back to us quickly.
The workmanship on the home was brilliant. It is for these reasons that we have chosen Summit for our next home (next door). This house is currently in the final stages of Council planning and going to prestart in a month or so.
Q2) What was the most important thing that you wanted to achieve through this process? How did you decide subdividing your block and building, both the investment property and your new home was the right move?
The most important thing for us was that we wanted to stand out from the crowd and build two beautiful homes- we wanted to avoid adding more little courtyard units.
Kallaroo has undergone recent rezoning and there are a few new developments around the area- many attempting to squeeze as much as allowable.
We wanted quality and not quantity for these developments and we feel very grateful for what we are on track to be achieving with this project.
Q3) How did you find the development process and working with Summit? And how do you feel about the completed product?
We have enjoyed the process. There has been a few hurdles to get through but we have managed to always find a way forward it.
Our working relationship with Ewan is excellent and I think this really helps when you take on a project like this. We look forward to more success working with him in the future.
Q4) Your primary/family home is about to start construction also with Summit Developments, can you tell us a bit about the design and build?
We have taken a few months to finalise the design and it truly is amazing. We have three kids and a business so we spent time going back and fourth with Ewan on how we can cater for a large family but keep the feel of the home open planned and spacious. I feel very excited with what we were able to achieve.
The home is a modern contemporary design with large vertical timber cladding and a balcony in the front elevation. Being beachside we intend to give the home a coastal feel inside, using timbers, stone and white on the walls. Nice and simple with good bones.
Q5) Any additional comments or observations you would like to make about Summit?
We have a lot of trust and faith in Summits ability to deliver a quality product and have loved working with them.
With the climate being as it is as the moment we also felt secure knowing that they have been around for a long time and for good reason.
We look forward to continuing a successful relationship with Ewan and the Summit team
