Tell us a bit about your new home.

It is our first ever house and our first time building. Admittedly, the experience of building was a lot more involved and complicated than we envisaged when we began our journey, but we are very happy we made the decision to build. We have a lovely home that is exactly how we want it and we plan to live here for many years to come. We decided to build in mid 2020 to take advantage of the government grants, which is why we opted for building over buying established.

What was the most important thing you wanted to achieve with your new home?

We wanted to create a home that would suit our needs into the future. We wanted a 4 bedroom house with a generous-sized master suite that was not located at the front of the house. We also wanted a big, open-plan entertaining area. We also wanted to live in a safe, connected and central neighbourhood and Calleya ticked all those boxes for us. In order to get everything we wanted for our price range the only option was to build.

How did you hear about Summit?

We considered a large number of builders. We visited display homes every weekend for around a month. However, many of the sales representatives from other builders did not give us the time of day and in some cases were quite rude to us. Eventually we visited a Summit display home where we met Chris Rose and we instantly felt that he was “on our side” and would help us with our building journey.

From that point on we decided to go with Summit. We were also impressed with the quality finishes in the Summit homes we had seen.

However, as first time home-owners and first time builders the most important thing for us was building with someone we could trust and who we knew would support us along the way. Chris gave us this reassurance and he was true to his word – he helped us at every step of the journey and we are so grateful for his guidance.

What advice would you offer to someone considering to build a home?

Do your research. Go with a builder that is known for quality finishes to avoid heart-ache down the line – we have seen so many awful stories in the news lately and count ourselves very lucky to have gone with Summit and achieved such a good result in the current market.

Would you recommend Summit to a family or friend who was building?

Yes, we would. We are happy with the finished product – it looks beautiful. Mostly we would recommend Chris Rose (our sales consultant) and Ethan Boatwright (our construction supervisor). Both Chris and Ethan helped us hugely along the journey and were able to come up with solutions when things did not quite go according to plan.
