The homeowners loved their neighbourhood and didn’t want to move, but needed more space for their growing family. Summit Renovations delivered a second-storey modular addition that created larger bedrooms, a spacious family bathroom, and a versatile sitting room on the upper floor. This new area provides the children with a dedicated space to study and relax, while enhancing the overall functionality of the home.

Design Solution

The addition was designed to blend seamlessly with the existing house. Feature horizontal external cladding maintains the character of the original home, while internal raked ceilings in the new bedrooms add volume and light. A window awning on the front elevation complements the ground floor, and open, exposed eaves ensure the new level sits harmoniously with the original structure.
